Sisterhood of the Blogging Stampers Group 25

I've just joined the Sisterhood of the Blogging Stampers. Group 25 is gonna rock! What a great way to "meet" fellow crafters and bloggers and share ideas and works of art! I can't wait to get to know everyone. If this sounds like something you're interested in, check out SBS.
Now a little info about me for my sisters........
I currently live in Japan. (a little obvious from my page title. lol) My hubby is in the Air Force. We moved here in June and love it so far.
We have 2 kiddos, a son & daughter. You will see them in my layouts quite frequently.
We are currently looking for a fur baby. We are hoping to adopt an abandoned dog as the Japanese gas over 200,000 dogs a year.
I am a Disney nut so therefore I CAN'T WAIT to get to Tokyo Disney Sea and Tokyo Disneyland.
I love to make cards, scrapbook pages, ATCS (wanna trade ATCs, let me know), altered art. I like to draw paint. Ok, I pretty much love anything artsy. I love music. It soothes me, inspires me, pumps me up, gets me going and sometimes makes me sad. Want to know more, well keep checking back or just ask me. I'm an open book. lol

Hi Michelle,
Great to have you in SBS#25. My husband is also Air Force - RAAF that is. We haven't had an out-of-country posting yet but he just returned from a 6-month deployment in the Middle East.
I'm looking forward to getting to know you.

Hi Michelle, so great to meet you. Thanks for checking out my page and the kind words. I was in the USAF from 85-89. I was stationed at Nellis AFB in Las Vegas, Nv. (yeah, a real hardship! LOL!)
I did go TDY a lot though, I was in Civil Engineering and we would go for Prime Beef (our version of war games) and I went around the
12th Air Force competing in Rapid Runway Repair and Marksmanship on the M-16. I rated 7th best overall, men and women, and that included the MP's and all those "good ol boys" who would brag about being able to hit a deer at 300 yards. The competition was fierce and so competitive, lots of testosterone, but I learned so much about how to take care of myself and learned to be proud of being a woman. I didn't want to be "one of the boys". And after I saw my scores compared to all the guys from my base, I realized I didn't have to be one of the boys. I was a proud USAF Soldier, that also happened to be a woman. Now here I am almost 20 years later and I am worlds away from that life, but I still hold dear all the lessons being a soldier taught me.
Tell your husband I said thank you for being in the military and doing his part to protect us. And thank you to you and your children for supporting him and our country no matter where it sends you. You are all such a blessing to our country.
Sincerely, your "sister", Leslie
